Facebook will pretty soon roll out its Click To WhatsApp on its Social Media app. It will let advertisers connect to the one billion WhatsApp users. This new Click To WhatsApp button is added to push ads to WhatsApp so that users can call or message directly via the instant messaging app. However, it remains unclear if Facebook will launch this feature for its regular consumers also.

This feature will launch in North and South America, Africa, Australia and in large part of Asia. But Europe is missing from the list given WhatsApp’s equation with EU regulators regarding data sharing on Facebook.

Pancham Gajjar, Product Marketing Manager, Facebook, says “Many people already use WhatsApp to communicate with small businesses. It’s a fast, convenient way to stay in touch,” said Pancham Gajjar, product marketing manager, Facebook, in a statement. “By adding a click-to-WhatsApp button to Facebook ads, businesses can now make it even easier for people to learn about their products, set up an appointment or use their service.”

Many pages have WhatsApp numbers in their posts. Businesses can now add ‘send message’ buttons in the WhatsApp logo of their Facebook ads. Those ads will only get sent to users who have WhatsApp installed on their phones.

How to Use it?

To start a conversation, people will have to add business WhatsApp numbers. Once done, WhatsApp opens with a default message expressing interest which can get later edited upon being sent. It is similar to Click To Messenger button on Facebook introduced for its ads.

Meanwhile, WhatsApp is also working on new features like tap to unblock, private reply in groups, etc.
