WhatsApp Beta Reveals new features like private replies in groups, Picture-In-Picture (PIP) mode, tap to unblock
WhatsApp, the most famous messaging app is getting ready to roll out its new update which comes with added new features like private replies in groups, PIP mode, tap to unblock. These features are being tested in the beta version, though not all beta users can get this update. This information comes from WABetainfo, which has previously revealed upcoming features on the app.
WABetainfo has also shared screenshots of its new features. Long pressing on the reply option in groups opens a list of possibilities where reply in private is also listed. Doing this would prove to be more convenient as it would make less mess of responses in the groups and even a user won’t have to go back to private messages everytime he/she needs to have a one on one conversation.
The PIP mode also makes sure that the selected video or a video chat appears as a new window with what looks like a unique user interface from WhatsApp. WhatsApp is even trying to add a tap to unblock feature where a user can just tap on the name of the user whom he wishes to unblock. There is also an “invite via the link” option in WhatsApp groups, but it is only visible to the admins.
What more to expect
The iOS users might soon get the group calls option soon, says WABetainfo. The messenger app is also planning to add a new settings section for Admins. It will have two options-
- Send messages and
- Edit group info
The app has even started services and business on the app. BookMyShow, MakeMyTrip, etc. are already sending update alerts to their consumers on WhatsApp now, instead of relying on traditional SMS. WhatsApp will also very soon add the UPI payments transaction option on the app.
